Google please run fiber to the poorer homes

Google has been accepting applications from communities to wire them up with gigabit fiber to the home. While there have been crazy stunts name changes and all sorts of actions to catch the big G's interest I would like to propose Google ignore everything and pick towns based on the have not’s.

The one thing all of us talk about in the tech industry is backup. Backup backup backup its a song with a lot of airtime and no one listens to it. Heck over and over again I hear people in the industry who tout backing getting bitten by there poor backups. And some people with good backups still get caught off guard by not following through.

Apple has released Aperture 3, and I am taking the plunge. I have been using version 2 for almost a year now, and developed a love/hate relationship with the app. The love part happened over Christmas break when I switched from my Dual Processor PowerMac G5 to the Intel Core 2 Quad 3.2 GHZ Hackintosh. The speed bump was so dramatic I learned most of my disliking was speed based.

So Apple has released the iPad and everyone is giving their 2 cents, its great... or it's going to flop.

While we have to wait for the actual device to ship I am strongly in the camp that this device is going to create its own market and it's success or failure will be based on software and services that have yet to be created. I am going to stand on my pedistal and call for one of those markets to be created, and I am calling out Adobe. I know there is no Flash - Apple hates Adobe... blah blah blah. I think people at Apple (Steve I am looking at you) don't hate Adobe but dislike the rutterless bloatware building bohemoth it has become. Flash went from dancing teddybears on web pages to a Director / CDRom replacing web animation, video, video game software building machine. Growing so fast, quality just never was written into its underlying code.

But we are not here for Flash, we are here for an overlooked quality product that could turn Adobe into an iPad selling engine. Acrobat Forms... yeah I know we all have them and use them. But I am talking 2 new pieces that Adobe could build easily.
